Open threat of TMC MP Tapan Dasgupta – Power and water stops if not voted

The West Bengal assembly elections are set to begin on March 27 and all parties are in the race to collect their votes. But in the meantime, there are some leaders who are threatening people to forget the morality of wanting votes and asking for votes. According to an India Today report, Bengal agriculture minister Tapan Dasgupta has threatened voters with serious consequences if they do not get votes in the state assembly elections. At a meeting in Hooghly, TMC candidate for the Saptagram assembly, Tapan Dasgupta, said voters would not “get electricity and water” for areas that did not vote.

At a rally on Saturday, Tapan Dasgupta said, “The areas where I did not get a vote would not get electricity and water. This is simple. They can ask the BJP for this. Tapan Dasgupta became Hooghly’s Saptagram MLA after he defeated his left front rival in 2011. He also won the seat of Saptagram in the 2016 Bengal elections. Dasgupta is now given a single seat to contest the West Bengal elections of 2021.

This is not the first time that a Trinamool Congress candidate is threatening serious consequences if the party does not vote in the Assembly elections. TMC MLA Hamidul Rahman had threatened voters in West Bengal ahead of the assembly elections.

At a public meeting in Dinajpur, Hamidul Rahman said, “After the election, traitors will be dealt with.” Hamidul Rahman asked the people to vote for the TMC, saying that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would “act like traitors” even after enjoying the benefits of her government.

Hamidul Rahman said, “Everyone has benefited from Mamata Banerjee’s projects, be it TMC or CPM or BJP.
