Petrol prices today: petrol prices have risen 35 times in the last two months

Petrol Diesel Price Today: In the capital Delhi, petrol costs Rs 100 per liter. After another hike in petrol prices on Monday, it is nearing a century in the capital. According to the public sector petroleum companies, the price of petrol has been hiked by 35 paise per liter. However, there has been no increase in diesel prices.

After the hike, petrol in Delhi will cost Rs 99.86 per liter. But diesel costs Rs 89.36 per liter. Fuel prices vary from state to state due to value added tax (VAT) and freight charges. In many other cities, petrol already costs Rs 100 per liter.

Petrol costs Rs 105.92 a liter in Mumbai. And Rs 100.75 per liter in Chennai. Taxes (Rs 32.90 per liter levied by the Center and Rs 22.80 per VAT by the state government) account for 55 per cent of the retail price of petrol in Delhi. On the other hand, taxes on diesel are 50 per cent tax (excise duty of Rs 31.80 and Rs 13.04 per liter).

Petrol retail price is Rs 100 per liter in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Bihar, Punjab, Ladakh and Sikkim. In some places in Rajasthan, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh, the most used fuel diesel costs Rs 100 per liter. Since May 4, petrol prices have been increased 35 times and diesel prices have been increased by 33 times. Petrol costs Rs 9.46 per liter. And diesel at Rs 8.63 per liter.
