PM Modi gave the key of the local ‘Arjun Tank’ to the army, know its specialty

On both fronts, tensions with China and Pakistan increase in the strength of the Indian army. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday presented Arjun Mark 1A, the country’s leading battle tank, to the nation. During his visit to Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Prime Minister Modi handed over the Swadeshi Arjuna main battle tank (MK-1A) to Army Chief of Staff General MM Narawane. It is believed that Arjun’s entry into the army will boost Make In India’s efforts in defense.

This tank, valued at Rs 8,000 400 crore, is made entirely in India. These 118 tanks will join the army’s first batch. A large number of Arjun tanks have already been deployed in the western desert along the Pakistan border. From these 118 Arjuna tanks, two regiments will be formed in the Armed Forces of the Army.

DRDO has been developing the Arjun Mark 1A Battle Tank for some time. The tank was designed by DRDO’s War Vehicle Research and Development Institute (CVRDE). About two and a half years ago, Arjun Tank signed an agreement to supply new versions. The five tanks were supposed to be handed over to the Prime Minister’s Army on Sunday.

PM Modi also launched the first phase of the Chennai Metro Rail project. 3,770 crore to complete the expanded project. It connects North Chennai with airports and railway stations.
