Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sunil Arora on Friday reviewed the preparations for the assembly elections in West Bengal. The Election Commission (EC) has decided to vote in more than one lakh polling stations in Bengal elections due to corona. After discussing with political parties, Sunil Arora said most of them should be deploying CAPFs in elections and videography at the polling station for safe voting. He called for effective measures to be taken to prevent social media abuse.
Sunil Arora said in the upcoming assembly elections in Bengal, “Polling stations have been increased due to coronavirus. The first 78,903 booths were built in Bengal. Now the number has crossed one lakh to 1,01,790.
“We have been assured by the Chief Secretary, DGP and Home Secretary that there will be no civilian police anywhere for any action related to voting,” he said.
