Rahul Dravid to replace Team India’s former all-rounder

Former India cricketer Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the head coach of Team India for the Sri Lanka tour. Shastri’s contract is set to expire later this year after the T20 World Cup. Ravishastri has done an amazing job as coach but India has never won any major ICC title under her coaches. Former India all-rounder and part of the Under-19 World Cup 2020, Rodender Singh Sodhi believes Rahul Dravid may be India’s next head coach. He said sending him on a tour of Sri Lanka as head coach would definitely be part of the board’s plan.

Sodhi told India News Sports, “We must first understand that Ravi Shastri has done a great job as Team India coach. Yes, now his contract is over. But think about it. For the temporary system and Rahul Dravid. I think that’s virtually impossible. If he is going to Sri Lanka as the head coach, there is a clear indication that he is somewhere in the line. If there is anyone who can replace Ravisastri as coach, it is Rahul Dravid.

Dravid’s record as a coach is outstanding. Under his training, India won the Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand. The India A team has done a great job in their coaching. Dravid got a big role after Sourav Ganguly became BCCI president. He was made director of the National Cricket Academy. Sodhi believes that if this was a temporary arrangement, he could have refused to go to Sri Lanka. He said such legendary players can never be a temporary option. If there is a replacement, they are on the line.
