‘Read More’ feature to replace WhatsApp’s archived chats

WhatsApp has been operating in holiday mode for over a year. It’s been reported here and there, but WhatsApp has begun to check back on it. WhatsApp is now working with holiday mode on a ‘read after’ feature, which replaces archive chat and gives users more control over chat.
This feature of WhatsApp has been identified by WABetaInfo, which is reported to be in beta version 2.20.130.16 for iOS. Testing is also being done on WhatsApp’s Android app for the Read Letter feature. This new feature does not replace archived chat, but improves it.
Within this, WhatsApp does not send notifications for that chat when the chat is moved to read later. It is believed to be a “holiday mode,” which is really long past the rumors. If you currently archive a chat and a new message arrives in the same chat, your chat will pop out of the archive and come back up.

In the Read Letter feature, the Edit button is provided to customize the settings. WhatsApp allows users to select multiple chats at once so that they are not archived quickly. Users have the option to disable the holiday mode for a reading letter. This means that if you select a chat for the character to read, a new message will pop up in other chats.

This is how archive chats work now. Until Holiday Mode is enabled, users will not receive notifications for reading character chats. WhatsApp is testing this feature on Alpha Stage for both Android and iOS. WhatsApp beta users have no access yet, but it is expected to roll out soon.
