‘Red Alert’ for wildlife protection in Rajasthan by February 2021

The Forest Department in Rajasthan on Saturday announced a ‘Red Alert’ for the protection of wild and wildlife till February 2021. According to an order issued by Rajasthan’s Chief Chief Conservator (Half) Shruti Sharma, during the ‘Red Alert’, there was a massive campaign to hunt hunters in all national parks, tiger reserves, wildlife sanctuaries and all forest areas. If necessary, action will be taken to catch poachers / criminals with the help of the local administration if necessary.
In the order, all forest officials were instructed to patrol the protected areas and forest areas continuously by patrolling to prevent illegal activities. The order was issued after a T-108 tiger was caught with a wire on Friday near Devpura Dam in Range Phalodi in Ranthambore Tiger Project area. Previously, the Ranthambore tiger project contained information about trapping / injuring cows and buffaloes by planting traps. Five hunters were recently arrested after a Sambhar hunting incident at Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary. The Forest Department on Friday sought permission from the National Tiger Conservation Authority to go to Moor as she had a string tied around her neck in Range Phalodi in Ranthambore tiger project area. The tiger was knocked unconscious at 11am on Saturday morning and was released into the forest at 11.45am after stripping the wire in the neck.
