Red Fort Violence: Teas Hazari court sends Deep Sidhu to police remand for 7 days

Tis Hazari court has sent another 7-day police remand to Punjab actor Deepu Sidhu, who was arrested in connection with the violence at the Red Fort during a farmers’ tractor parade in the capital, Delhi on January 26. Prior to his arrest, Sidhu was produced in court on February 9 after his arrest, until Sidhu was sent on a 7-day police remand. It can be noted that Deep Sidhu was arrested by Delhi Police Special Cell near Karnal Bypass, Haryana on the night of February 8.

Delhi Police on Saturday took Deep Sidhu and another accused Iqbal Singh to the Red Fort to investigate the matter. According to police, Sidhu was mainly responsible for the violence and chaos that took place in the Red Fort on January 26.

When riots broke out in Delhi on the Republic Day, Deep Sidhu told us that he was staying in the Red Fort and making inflammatory speeches. But, during the violence, he fled. At the same time, Deep Sidhu has escaped from the police after the violence, but he was constantly active in social media.

The NIA had summoned Sidhu on January 17 in connection with the Sikh case for justice.

Significantly, on January 26, tens of thousands of protesters broke into the country’s capital and clashed with other police personnel, including the ITO, in other places. Many protesters drove the tractor to the Red Fort and entered the historic monument, placing a religious flag on it.
