India’s legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has once again shown his passion for public service by fulfilling his dream of a medical education by the poor farmer’s daughter Deepti Swamirao. An NGO called Seva Sahyog Foundation tweeted, “Deepti Swamirao of Jaire village of Ratnagiri is now ready to become the first doctor of his village. Thanks to Sachin Tendulkar. Her (Deepti) dream of going to medical college is now coming true. Thanks to Sachin for being part of the journey of Deepti and many other students. ‘

In a video shared with Tweet, Deepti also expressed his gratitude for Tendulkar’s support. He said, ‘I am doing MBBS from Akola’s Government Medical College. My family has four members, including my parents and younger brother. My father was a farmer and mother a homemaker. I am proud of the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation which has given me a scholarship. This scholarship covers all the expenses made for my study. So now I can only focus on the study. My dream of becoming a doctor is going to come true.
