See the top-selling SUV, the Top-5, from Creta to Scorpio

As a sub-compact SUV, there is increasing competition in India’s mid-size SUV segment. Trains like the Skoda Cushawk and Volkswagen Taigun are also coming soon in this segment. Currently Korean companies like Hyundai and Kia continue to be the king of the mid-sized SUV segment in India. So let’s see what the top-5 SUVs are for car sales in March.

Hyundai Creta SUV
A new generation model of the Hyundai Creta SUV was launched last year. Since then, car sales have increased. Hyundai Creta sold 12,460 units in March. The car gets three engine options – 1.5 liter petrol (115 PS / 144 Nm), 1.5 liter diesel (115 PS / 250 Nm) and 1.4 liter turbo petrol (140 PS / 242 Nm).

Kia cellos SUV
Kia Celtos is second in terms of sales in March. It sold 10,557 units. It gets the 1.5-liter petrol (115 PS / 144 Nm), the 1.4-liter turbo petrol (140 PS / 242 Nm), and the 1.5-liter diesel (115 PS / 250 Nm) engine options. The company will soon launch its premium version – Celto’s Gravity Edition in India.

The MG Hector SUV
The MG Hector SUV has been in the spotlight ever since its launch with its Internet connectivity features. The car sold 4,720 units in March. The price of the car is 13.17 to 18.85 lakh (ex-showroom). It gets a 1.5-liter turbo petrol (143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque) and a 2.0-liter diesel engine.

Mahindra Scorpio SUV
Mahindra will soon be bringing a new generation of Scorpio, although fan compliance is not diminishing in the current generation of Scorpio. It sold 2,535 units in March. It has a 2.2 liter diesel engine. It offers features such as cruise control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto headlamps and LED DRL. The car is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross SUV
The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki is at the bottom of the list. The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross sold 2,331 units in March. It gets a 1.5-liter petrol engine with the mild-hybrid technology, just like the new Vitara Brezza. The car costs Rs 8.39 lakh.
