Seeing Bharat Bandh, the Center points out to the states, – Tighten security and ensure peace

The central government has asked all states and Union Territories to tighten security and ensure peace during the ‘Bharat Bandh’, which was convened on Tuesday by Farmer Organizations and Opposition parties. This information was provided by the authorities. In a nationwide consultation issued by the Union Home Ministry, state governments and central government administrators must ensure that the Kovid-19 guidelines are followed and the social gap is maintained.

“Maintain peace and patience and take precautionary measures during the Bharat Bandh so that no unpleasant incidents occur anywhere in the country,” states a Home Ministry official on Monday. Farmers’ organizations have called on Bharat Bandh to protest against three agrarian laws brought in the monsoon session of parliament. Major parties such as the Congress, the NCP, the DMK, the SP, the TRS and the Left parties have backed the bund.

Thousands of farmers are protesting in the border areas of Delhi against the new agricultural laws. Most of these farmers are from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Even after five rounds of talks with the protesting farmers’ government on Saturday, leaders of peasant organizations were worried about the demand for a new law to be withdrawn and a ‘silent fast’ demanding a clear answer to yes or no. Following this, the Center called another meeting on 9 December.
