Electric scooter enthusiasts have suffered a huge setback. Bajaj Auto, the country’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer, recently started booking its sole electric scooter, the Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter. Now the company has significantly increased the price of this scooter. According to reports, the scooter is priced at Rs 27,000.
For the second time this year, Bajaj Chetak has raised the price of electric scooter before the company raised about Rs 5,000 in March. Now, after this hike, the price of this scooter has gone up to Rs 1,42,620 (ex-showroom, Pune). This is about Rs 27,000 more than the previous price.
These scooters are available in a total of two variants on the market, including Urban and Premium. These scooters in the market mainly compete with the TVS iQube and Ather 450X, which range in price from Rs 1.28 lakh to Rs 1.47 lakh. Currently, Bajaj Chetak is only available for sale in Pune and Bangalore, the company will soon be selling it in other cities of the country.
New Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter
Now speaking of the Bajaj Chetak scooter, the company used a 3 kW battery pack and a 4.08 kW electric motor on this scooter. The scooter comes with two different driving modes, including Sport and Eco modes. The scooter delivers a maximum range of up to 95kmph in Eco Mode and can be up to 85kmph in Sport Mode.
The scooter battery takes about 5 hours to fully charge and can be charged up to 25 percent in just 1 hour with the help of a quick charging system. The battery life of this scooter is about 70,000 km or 7 years. The company has been offering this battery for 3 years or 50,000 km.
