Shreyas Iyer said this about playing in the second leg of IPL 2021

The second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19. The T20 World Cup will also be played in the UAE two days after the IPL final. Meanwhile, IPL franchise Delhi Capitals batsman Shreyas Iyer has already started preparing for the tournament. Before the start of IPL 2021, Iyer had a shoulder injury and was out of the league. In his absence, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant captained the team. The 14th season of the IPL was postponed to midway due to the corona virus epidemic. Iyer has given a big update on his injury. They have said they are in the final stages of recovering from an injury and will regain their fitness over the next one month.

However, the 26-year-old batsman has yet to clarify the captaincy and said it was up to the franchise to decide. Iyer on the grade cricketer’s YouTube channel said, ‘My shoulder … Yes, I think the treatment process is over. Now that is the final step to gaining strength and fitness. It takes me about a month. My training is going well too. I think I will be available for IPL. I don’t know about leadership. That is in the hands of the franchisee. Although the team is already doing well and we are on top and that really means a lot to me. My main goal is to lift the trophy that Delhi has never done before.

Iyer suffered a shoulder injury in the ODI series between India and England. This made him unable to play in the first half of the IPL and was later given the captaincy of the Delhi Capitals in his place. Under Iyer’s leadership, the Delhi Catapults reached the finals for the first time in 2020, where they faced defeat at the hands of defending champion Mumbai Indians.
