Bangalore-based electric two-wheeler maker Simple Energy has revealed the name of its first electric scooter, which will be officially launched on August 15, 2021. According to the brand, this upcoming new scooter will be called ‘Simple One’ and the company has already filed a trademark for it. So far this scooter was nicknamed ‘Mark 2’, and was spotted during testing on several different occasions.
However, Simple Energy has already revealed some details about this electric scooter. The main thing about this scooter is its driving range, which is said to offer a range of up to 240 km on a single charge. Once on the market, this scooter will compete mainly with the upcoming new scooters such as the Athar 450X, Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube and Ola.

According to information, the company used a 4.2 kW capacity pack on this scooter, producing 9.4 hp and 72 Nm of torque. The scooter is 103 km per hour and is very special at pick-up. According to media reports, the scooter is capable of accelerating from zero to 50 kilometers per hour in just 3.6 seconds.
In terms of looks, the company has given the scooter a sporty design, with features such as a touchscreen instrument cluster and USB charging. The company is also expected to add a connectivity feature to it, as seen on advanced scooters these days. No information about this has yet been officially shared.

It is said that the company is also using a fast charging system in Simple One. This scooter can only be charged from the socket of the scooter’s normal home. With the help of a fast charging system, this scooter can charge up to 50% in just 20 minutes and up to 80% in 40 minutes, but takes about 1 hour and 5 minutes for full charge. However, more information will be revealed soon after this scooter is released.
The scooter was first reported to be launched in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, after which the company will launch it in other cities in the country. As for the price, the company is trying to release this scooter at a cheaper price, which makes it easier to compete with competitors. The scooter is expected to be launched between Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.20 lakh.
