The first match of the two-match Test series between Sri Lanka and England is being played at the Galle International Stadium. Sri Lanka were reduced to just 135 in 46.1 overs on the first day of the match. Sri Lankan star batsman Kusal Mendis was once again out for zero runs. Mendis has not been able to score a single run in the last four Test innings, and has been trolling on social media since being dismissed to zero four consecutive times. Mendis was dismissed for 2 balls without a delivery as Stuart Broad’s Jose Butler caught the catch.

Skipper Dinesh Chandimal was the highest run scorer for Sri Lanka with 28 runs. In addition, Angelo Mathews (27), Dasun Shanaka (23) and Kusal Perera (20) were the only batsmen to score 20 runs. England’s Dom Bess took five wickets while Brad took three. One wicket went to Jack Leach’s account. In reply, England were 127 for two at the close of the day.
