Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju defended the name of Sardar Patel Cricket Stadium by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the entire sports complex is still named after the country’s first home minister. The stadium was inaugurated by President Ramanath Kovind on Wednesday with a capacity of 32 lakh spectators.
Rijiju tweeted, “The entire sports complex is named Sardar Patel Enclave. The cricket stadium is only named as Narendra Modi Stadium. This stadium is also located inside the complex.
The name of the entire sports complex is the Sardar Patel Sports Enclave. Only one cricket stadium is named after that complex #NarendraModistadium
