The BSE Sensex jumped 194 points to close at 53,000 on Wednesday. The benchmark indices strengthened the market with gains from HDFC Bank, HDFC Ltd, Tata Steel and ICICI Bank. The 30-share Sensex jumped 193.58 points, or 0.37 percent, to a record high of 53,054.76. Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty rose 61.40 points, or 0.39 percent higher at 15,879.65, the highest closing level.
