On the first day of the week, the stock market closed at a high and rose to a high on Monday. The benchmark Sensex gained 347.42 points to reach an all-time high of 45,426.97. The Nifty also finished with a record of 13,355.75, a gain of 97.20 points.
Shares of ICICI Bank, ITC and Hindustan Unilever rose 151 points in early trading on Monday. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty crossed the 13,300 mark.
The 30-share BSE Sensex fell slightly after reaching a record high of 45,245.30 in early trade. It later traded at 45,230.33 points, with a gain of 150.78 points or 0.33 points. Similarly, the Nifty traded at 13,306.90 points, with a gain of 48.35 points or 0.36 percent. The Nifty also reached an all-time high of 13,310.85 at one time.
