Today is the 125th birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose who has given new strength to the War of Independence with declarations. 1. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was born on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack, Odisha, Bengal. Bose’s father’s name is Junkinath Bose and his mother’s name is Influence. Jankinath Bose was a well-known lawyer in the city of Cuttack. Influence and Junkinath Bose has a total of 14 children, 6 daughters and 8 sons. Subhash Chandra is the 9th child and 5th son.

2. Netaji did his early education at Ravenshaw Collegiate School, Cuttack. Later he was educated at the Presidency College and the Scottish Church College, Kolkata. Shortly after, his parents sent him to the University of Cambridge, England, to prepare for the Indian Administrative Service.

3. In 1920, he passed the Civil Service Examination in England but quit his job to take part in the Indian War of Independence. After leaving civil service, he joined the Indian National Congress to free the country from the clutches of the British. He was quite distracted by the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

4. Mahatma Gandhi was leading the liberal party in the Congress, while Subhash Chandra Bose was an enthusiastic revolutionary party. So Netaji did not agree with Gandhiji’s opinion. However, they both had the sole and only goal of liberating India. If Netaji believed that a strong revolution was needed to drive the British out of India, Gandhi believed in a nonviolent movement.

5. In 1938, Netaji was elected President of the Indian National Congress, after which he formed the National Planning Commission. At the 1939 congress session, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose seized Pattabhi Sitaramaiah, who stood with Gandhi. At this time, there was a rift between Gandhi and Bose, and then Netaji himself left the Congress.

6. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose married his secretary and the first Emily of Austria in 1937. They have a daughter, Anita, and currently live in Germany with her family.

7. Netaji created ‘Azad Hind Fauz’ on 21st October 1943, establishing ‘Azad Hind Sarkar’ to free India from the British. Subhash Chandra Bose with his army reached Burma (now Myanmar) on July 4, 1944. Here he gave the slogan ‘You give me blood and I will give you freedom’.

8. From 1921 to 1941, he went to jail several times for complete swaraj. He believed that freedom cannot be achieved through non-violence. During World War II he traveled to countries such as the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Japan and sought cooperation against the British government.

9. He started the Azad Hind Radio Center in Germany and spearheaded the Indian National Movement in East Asia. Subhash Chandra Bose believed that Bhagavad Gita was the source of his main motivation.

10. Three Commission of Inquiry, but not resolved
On August 18, 1945, Netaji disappeared after a plane crash in Taipei. Three inquiry committees have been sitting on the incident, two of which have claimed that the investigating commissions died after the Netaji accident. Justice M.K.
