Team India, headed by Shikhar Dhawan, has arrived in Sri Lanka and will tour from July 13

Team India led by Shikhar Dhawan reached Sri Lanka. India will play three ODIs and three T20Is against Sri Lanka on this tour. In the absence of senior players, many young faces are included in the team. Players like Devadut Padikkal, Chetan Zakaria and Rituraj Gaikwad have been successful in securing a place in the Indian team for the first time. Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the head coach for the tour.

Team India star all-rounder Hardik Pandya shared the picture on his Instagram story and wrote, ‘Arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka’. At the same time, Sri Lankan cricket has been informed on its Twitter handle by posting a photo of the arrival of the Indian team. Regular skipper Virat Kohli is currently touring England with the Red Ball, while Dhawan’s side has Bhuvneshwar Kumar as vice-captain while Rahul Dravid is the coach. Referring to the Sri Lanka Cricket website, PTI said the Indian team will be in strict contact from June 29 to July 1. After this, players will begin training from July 2 to 4. From July 5, the team will be able to fully participate in the practice session.

India will embark on a tour of the ODI series, the first of which will be on July 13. The second ODI will be held on July 16 followed by the third and final series on July 18. The three-match T20 series will start from July 21 after the ODI. Young players like Devadut Padikkal, Prithvi Shah, Krishnappa Gautam and Chetan Zakaria have been given the opportunity to tour Sri Lanka. Two wicket-keepers in the form of Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson. Regarding this young team, skipper Dhawan has said that the series will give the players a chance to find a place in the main team.
