If India are announced for the first two Tests, England will be announced for the first two Tests. Brisbane won the Test series in the absence of famous cricketers Virat Kohli, Jaspreet Bumrah, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. After the first Test in Adelaide, Virat Kohli returned home on paternity leave. Following this, Ajinkya Rahane took charge of the team for the remaining three Tests. In Adelaide, Team India managed just 36 in the second innings and suffered a humiliating defeat by eight wickets.
