The Center secretly reduced Kejriwal’s authority, changed the GNCTD Act and gave the Delhi government rights to LG: Sisodia

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the central government has secretly seized the rights of the Delhi government and handed it over to the Lieutenant Governor. The central government has reduced the rights of the elected government of Delhi by changing the GNCTD Act. The move by the central government is against democracy and the constitution, Sisodia said.

Sisodia said today that a media report has revealed that the Delhi government’s rights are being given to LG. The Union Cabinet has approved this. How much power will the central government give LG, and all decisions of the Delhi government will now be taken. The state government of the people of Delhi has no right to make a decision. The Center has taken this decision very covertly. He said that this step of the central government is contrary to the government and the constitution that the people have chosen in a democratic way. It is clearly written in the constitution that there is an elected government in Delhi, which can make all decisions except for three things: police, land and public order.

The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court made the situation clear

In 2015, the BJP’s elected government uncontestedly granted the right to LG. When we went to the Supreme Court against them, it was made clear that the Constitutional Council had left the same three issues and had the right to make the remaining decisions. This is clearly stated in the order. The Constitutional Bench of Five Judges explained this. After that there is no way for the central government, except for three things, to police land and public order information going to LG.

But now the BJP government in the center has decided to bypass the Constitution and Supreme Court order that LG has the right to make a final decision even if it is an elected government in Delhi.

The BJP wants to rule the people of Delhi through the back door

In fact, after losing three times, the BJP wants to rule the people of Delhi through the back door, while Delhi has rejected the BJP three times. But coming from the back door, they want to go against the Constitution and impose themselves on the people. What this may mean is that the BJP takes a back seat to the decision not to run a Delhi-elected government that wants to do better. If the Delhi government says to fix good schools, mohalla clinics and hospitals, then the BJP says through the back door. In fact, education and health are not on the BJP’s agenda. The BJP refuses if we say free electricity. This will happen if we give the BJP the right to run the government through the back door. If they talk about free travel, they are against it.

He ceased our work until the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Panel explained the constitution five years ago in 2015. School files, CCTV cameras, mohalla clinics, pressed colleges. After that, when the Supreme Court ordered, work was speeding up in Delhi.

Today, the BJP is again pushing the law to halt all these activities and stop the works. It is against democracy. Delhi is against the people. This is contrary to the constitution’s etchings. The BJP is trying to go against all this and run a government in Delhi. We study it and talk about what can happen next.
