The government is fulfilling its promise of providing an allowance of Rs 3500 per month for the educated unemployed: State Minister for Entrepreneurship Ashok Chandna

The Rajasthan government on Monday said it was fulfilling its election promise of providing an allowance to the educated unemployed and so far around two and a half lakh youth have benefited from it.

State Minister for Skills and Entrepreneurship Ashok Chandna made the announcement in the Assembly on Monday. He said the state government is giving allowances to the educated unemployed as promised in their public announcement. He said that the Chief Minister Yuva Sambal scheme was launched in the second month of government formation from February 1, 2019. So far, 2,49,433 unemployed candidates have received an allowance of up to Rs 3,500 per month.

Responding to a supplementary question by MLA Rajendra Rathod during the query, Chandana said that around 4.56 lakh petitions have been received under Chief Minister Yuva Sambal’s scheme out of which 2,49,433 have benefited. At the same time, there are 50,202 people who first took advantage of this project and now they are out of it. The scheme is being implemented on a ‘first come first serve’ basis, in which 2,15,390 unemployed candidates will be given benefits instead of 1.60 lakh beneficiaries, ”he said.

The state minister of entrepreneurship said the state government is very sensitive about the unemployed in the current economic situation. Considering the unemployment status, the government has increased the maximum limit of unemployment allowance applicants from one lakh to 1.60 lakh earlier and it is currently two lakh.

Earlier, in a written reply to the original question by MLA Rathod, the State Minister of State for Entrepreneurship announced that the state-educated unemployed youth would get Rs 3,500 per month. In line with this, the Mukherjee Yuva Sambal Scheme is underway from 1st February 2019. Unemployment allowance of Rs 3000 per month for male candidates and Rs 3500 per month for Lingayata, Female and Special Eligible candidates. He informed that on January 31, 2021, 15,03,834 educated unemployed candidates were registered in the job portal at the department portal. Of these, the number of undergraduate and graduate unemployed is 12,24,008.

Chandana informed the Chief Minister of the state that the limit has been set for granting allowance amount to the maximum of 1 lakh 60 thousand beneficiaries under the Yuva Sambal scheme. A total of 2,49,433 beneficiaries have been granted unemployment allowance up to December 31, 2020, since the inception of this scheme. In January 2021, 1,59,113 beneficiaries were receiving an allowance. He informed that 88,262 beneficiaries have renewed their allowance for the year 2020-21 and that a total of 2,15,390 applicants have pending waiting lists. On December 31, 2020, he said there was no application pending an investigation.
