The home policy work, which has been implemented in the capital Delhi, has not been followed by the first day offices

In view of the corona transition, the Work from Home policy has been implemented by the Delhi government from December 1. But it was only followed by a few offices on Tuesday. While some government departments adopted a home-based policy on the first day of implementation, others continued to work as usual.

There are many departments that have not yet adopted this policy and are not sure how to implement it. Departments such as the Service Department, General Administration and Surveillance have begun listing WFH from Monday to allow more of their employees to work on alternate days.

The proposal was approved by the Lieutenant Governor on Saturday:

Considering the growing number of coronary cases, the Delhi government on Saturday prepared a proposal that only 50 per cent of staff should be called to office to maintain social distance. The remaining 50 percent of employees were asked to work from home. The Lieutenant Governor approved the proposal on Saturday evening. The system has been implemented in offices since Monday 1 December.

A senior official cited the obstacles facing this policy in public services. The home policy said the work does not apply to health, sheriffs, home guards, civil defense, prison staff and the water department.

The official said all services such as driving license, income and caste, certificate or sub-registrar work will continue to run smoothly. He said working from home policy could increase wait times. For example, the time to get a driving license is already one to two months but now people may have to wait even longer.

Umesh Batra, general secretary of the Delhi Government Employees’ Welfare Association, called a meeting on Tuesday evening from the Department of Education and discussed how the work from home would work under policy. “There are many departments, such as education, labor and food and civil supplies, many of whom are indirectly involved in Kovid-19 services,” he said.

The WFH policy was also implemented in advance:

The Delhi government has implemented a policy during the lockdown, saying that as of June 30, only 50 per cent of employees will be allowed to work in most departments. The policy ended when the lockdown was eliminated in July.
