The International Cricket Council (ICC) has sanctioned 15 players and eight officials for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the UAE. An official of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Friday that the ICC has set a deadline of September 10 for the participating countries to send a list of eight officials, including their last 15 players and coaches and support members.
The official told PTI, ‘The ICC T20 World Cup allows countries to bring in additional players with the team to look at the Kovid-19 and bio-bubble situation, but the cost will be paid by the respective boards. The ICC pays only 15 players and eight officials. For the first time since 2016, the T20 World Cup will be held in Oman and the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah) from October 17 to November 14.

The eight-nation qualifier will be held from September 23, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Ireland. Four teams qualify for the Super-12 stage. “It is now up to the board to decide how many additional players it wants to keep with its team, keeping an eye on the Kovid-19 situation,” the official said. If the main team player is positively injured or injured in the Kovid-19 test, one of the additional players can take his place.
