Both the Mahatma Gandhi Bridge, which connects North and South Bihar, will be operational by March 2022. Construction of a new four lane bridge parallel to the Gandhi bridge will also begin soon. Road Construction Minister Mangal Pandey gave the necessary instructions for these projects in order to review the national highway projects.
At a review meeting, the minister said that Mahatma Gandhi Sethu is still running a path. Work on breaking the second path has begun. Both lanes are expected to be completed by March 2022, while the second lane, the east renovation. The government has decided to construct a new four lane bridge parallel to the Gandhi bridge. Its tendering process is complete. Construction of this new bridge should start soon. State road construction projects under the PM package were also reviewed at the meeting.
The construction of the bridge will begin soon in Phulot and Bhagalpur
Construction of the approved bridge is also set to begin soon on the National Highway 106 in the Fallout of the Kosi River and the Bikramshila Bridge in Bhagalpur on the Ganga. The tendering process for both these bridges is complete. Only work should be done. Construction work on NH 104 and 106 has been expedited and is expected to be completed soon. All the 15 ROBs sanctioned by the Ministry of Road and Highways were coordinated with the Railways to eliminate bottlenecks in construction and to complete projects within the time limit. At the same time, the Center directed the construction of a long-term plan for the maintenance and development of the National Highways, to keep the roads assigned to Bihar in good condition at any time.
12 projects in the PM package have been completed
The review meeting reviewed the state’s road construction projects under the Prime Minister’s package. In all, 51 projects are working from Rs. Under this, 1224 crore 12 projects have been completed. Under the Prime Minister’s package, four major bridges will be built, two in the Ganga River in Patna, one in Bhagalpur and the fourth in the Kosi River in Fulout. At present, widening is being done at a cost of 78 4278 crore over a length of 718 km. In addition, the construction of 15 ROBs has been approved at a cost of Rs 1060 crore, of which 13 ROBs are in progress. Consolidation work in progress at about 500 km. Additional Secretary General of Road Construction Amrit Lal Meena, Dinesh Sehra, Special Secretary, Umesh Kumar, Chief Engineer, Amarnath Pathak, Chief Engineer, Anil Kumar Sinha, Regional Officer of the Ministry and other engineers were present at the inspection meeting.
