The solution: pulses became cheaper by 20 per cent, the higher the decline

Prices have fallen 20 per cent amid government efforts to check the rise in pulses. However, despite this, the government does not want to take any risk. Therefore, the government has once again instructed to declare the shares. The Center has instructed states to monitor the collection of pulses every week.

In the Union Consumer Affairs Ministry, Secretary Leena Nandan has written to the Chief Secretaries of all the states that the inventory of pulses should be reviewed every week. Stock announcement and verification must be done quickly to stop procurement. The ministry had previously instructed states to direct millers, processors, exporters and importers and stockists to declare the inventory of pulses. The cost of pulses has declined after precautionary measures, but the price of pulses will continue to rise during the festive season, a senior official of the ministry said. Therefore, steps are being taken from today. In this issue, Malawi and Myanmar have signed an agreement to import pulses. Moong, Urad and Tur Dal were removed from the ban until 31 October 2021 and included in the free section.

Experts say pulses will fall further. With demand for stock information from government traders, Nafed has begun selling pulses in the local market. In addition, the number of people attending weddings and other functions is fixed in many states. If the restrictions are not lifted and the festive season has not come, the chances of pulses rising are slim.
