As petrol and diesel prices soar, more and more people are turning to other fuel options. In this fight to save some money against fuel prices, CNG vehicles are emerging as the best choice. Electric vehicles are also a good option, but due to the high cost of infrastructure and high cost, these vehicles cannot reach the general public. As for CNG cars, Maruti Suzuki is number one in this regard.
Maruti Suzuki has a strong CNG vehicle portfolio with about 6 models in this segment. The Maruti Wagoner CNG hatchback segment is the best-selling car in the country, but the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is performing well as a 7-seat CNG. People love this car more because of its lower price, better mileage and better seating capacity.
In the first quarter of this year, the company sold 7,453 units of Maruti Ertiga’s CNG variants. This is up from 803 units in the first quarter of last year alone. Obviously, the corona epidemic in the country has had a bad impact on business since last year. Moreover, last year’s fuel prices were also not so high.
High demand and long wait:
However, due to high demand, the waiting period of this car is constantly increasing. In some cities you may have to wait 6 months for the Maruti Ertiga CNG variant. When we learned about this, we spoke with some vendors in cities like Lucknow, Noida and Gorakhpur. The waiting period for this car is said to be about 20 to 25 weeks. Obviously people are willing to wait for this car for months because of the good performance and usefulness of this car.
