Kia India has reached another milestone in terms of sales in the Indian market. The company has sold over 3 lakh vehicles in India. Kia claims to have sold 3 lakh cars in a short period. Kia entered India two years ago. Kia sold 1 lakh vehicles in the first year and 2 lakh in the next one year. In two years, the company has sold more than 3 lakh cars.
SUV has accelerated sales
Kia has hit the Indian market with the Celtose SUV. This is the company’s best selling car. Notably, the 300,000th car remains the Kia Celto’s. This car alone accounts for 66 per cent of the company’s total sales. The Kia Sonnet Compact SUV came in second, capturing 32 percent of sales. Kia Carnival’s 7,310 units have been sold so far.

Kia has sold over 1 lakh vehicles in 6 months
At the time of car sales results in July 2021, Kia had sold more than 1 lakh vehicles in the last 6 months. In addition, in July alone, the company sold 15,016 vehicles. In this way, in July 2021, Kia India achieved annual (YoY) growth of 76 per cent. The largest contributor to the company’s total sales in July was the sub-compact SUV Kia Sonnet, which sold a total of 7,675 units.

A new MPV is coming
The company is now working on its fourth product, which could be a compact MPV. Its launch will be made in early 2022. Codenamed Kia KY, the car will compete with the upcoming compact mpv from Maruti Ertiga, Mahindra Marazzo and Hyundai and MG. It is likely to have a design, features and engine inspired by Kia Cellos.
