England’s top-order batsman Tom Banton may be back from the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year. Banton wants to take a place in the England Test squad and so he wants to focus on Red Ball’s domestic cricket. In the IPL 2020, Banton was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team, but this time he had the opportunity to play only two games. He said he wanted to play cricket instead of sitting on the bench.

Banton told Sky Sports, “I have loved watching IPL tournaments since childhood. But I think I’m at that point now where I have to play cricket instead of sitting on the bench. He said, ‘I explained a few things to me last year, of course all these tournaments were great, but a lot of them I didn’t sit on the bench and do much work. Truth be told, I avoided batting and playing cricket.
