United Kisan Morcha – 16 people missing from tractor rally, legal aid to arrested farmers

Farmer organizations protesting against the center’s new agrarian laws on the Delhi border have filed false cases against farmers on Saturday, January 26, demanding a high-level judicial inquiry into the violence during the tractor parade.

Farmers who are receiving police notice should not appear before the police directly but instead contact the Legal Directorate established by Farmers’ Union for assistance, leaders of the United Kisan Morcha said at a conference on the Singhhu border.

Kuladeep Singh, a member of the Kisan Morcha law cell, said a Supreme Court or a retired judge of the High Court should investigate the conspiracy behind the violence on January 26 and the ‘fake cases’ filed against farmers.

According to farmer leaders, 16 farmers who participated in the tractor parade are still missing. Another farmer leader, Ravinder Singh, has been arrested by Delhi Police.

United Kisan Morcha will provide legal and financial assistance to all arrested farmers, he said. The leaders of the Morcha claim that they are filing false cases against the farmers and serious allegations like robbery and attempted murder are being made against them. He said Kisan Morcha would give two thousand rupees to each of the arrested farmers so that they could buy food from him in the prison canteen.

Let us tell you that for the past several days, farmers in Haryana, Punjab and UP have been continuously protesting against the Center’s three new agricultural laws in all the borders of Delhi.
