UPI payment can also be done via WhatsApp, a new feature coming soon

The instant messaging app WhatsApp launched a payment platform for its users last year. Now the company is making some changes to it. According to the WABetaInfo blog, which tracks WhatsApp updates, the company is now preparing to offer a new feature of UPI payments on its service. According to the WABetaInfo report, with the introduction of this feature, Indian WhatsApp users will be able to make UPI payments directly without any payment request.

As of now, WhatsApp users in India can send money securely to their friends and contacts through a UPI payment. In addition, users can also send payment requests to contacts. Instead, users can also enable this feature for any connection.

According to a recent report, the company now wants to provide a UPI payment service to all users, thereby eliminating users’ reliance on a payment request. After the release of this feature, users will be able to easily configure the UPI payment and after linking the bank account to transact the money with any connection via WhatsApp. It is not certain how long the company will release this feature because it is now being developed.

WhatsApp’s new Privacy Policy is effective today
WhatsApp updated Privacy Policy, effective today. It was originally scheduled to take effect from 20 February 2021, but the company had to postpone its implementation until May 15 after a user protest. For users who do not accept the policy, the company will ban account access. However, WhatsApp has provided some relief in this deadline. User accounts that do not receive the new policy will not be deleted, but the availability of WhatsApp features will soon be reduced, the company said.

Users will not be able to access their WhatsApp chat list, as they will not accept the new terms and conditions, but they will continue to receive voice and video calls, the company said. Moreover, users also get WhatsApp notifications and they are able to read and reply to those messages. However, the company will also discontinue this feature in the coming weeks so that users receive a new policy to continue using WhatsApp.
