The Indian Premier League will start on Friday between five-time champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB captain Virat Kohli believes batting at the top will help the team get the right balance. Prior to the start of IPL 2021, Kohli said the innings for RCB would start. Kohli opened for India in the last T20 against England and scored an unbeaten 80 off 52 balls.
RCB shared the video on its official Twitter handle. In this video, I spoke with Mike Hewson and Simon Katich last year saying I want to open IPL 2021, ”Kohli said. Fortunately things got a chance to open up in the last T20 against England and I scored well. It gave me confidence that I could do it again.
This experience is important in IPL. I know that if I play in the top order it creates balance in the team.
As he was going through a bad phase, Kohli said he talked to AB de Villiers. He said it was great when you played this day, then you get into a zone where you feel you can’t even get a run. There is a lack of clarity in your mind and a lot of thoughts are wandering. All of these are external factors you can think of and this creates more confusion. Then I thought I’d talk to de Villiers. I’ve seen them play. He has the same passion and intensity in every innings. He has never been accustomed to scoring and is always thinking about the state of the team.
