Team India star batsman and Test team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane is celebrating his 33rd birthday today. Rahane is currently in England with the Indian team to play the final of the World Test Championship. Team captain Virat Kohli shared a special message for the deputy, wishing Rahane a happy birthday. India will play the WTC final against New Zealand in Southampton from June 18 to 22.
Sharing a photo with Rahane, Virat Kohli wrote, “Happy birthday, many peace and happiness to you and many more memorable partnerships to be made with you”. The middle order in the WTC final against New Zealand will have a heavy responsibility on Rahane. However, the Indian captain’s performance with the bat has not been particularly impressive in recent times. Rahane did not run out of his bat in the home series against England. However, Team India will definitely expect strong innings from them in the final.

Ajinkya Rahane was in charge of Virat Kohli’s absence on the tour of Australia and despite being down 1-0 in the series, the Kangaroo team defeated the team in the Test series. Rahane scored a century in Team India’s spectacular victory at the Melbourne Stadium. Under the captaincy of this right-handed batsman, India lost to Australia at the Gabba 32 years later.
