VVS Laxman talks about this 21-year-old young batsman who must play all six matches in Sri Lanka

Former India cricketer VVS Laxman has revealed his selection of openers for the upcoming ODI and T20 series against Sri Lanka. Laxman has said that he wants to open up to 21-year-old Prithvi Shah in all six matches to be played in Sri Lanka. India will have to play three ODIs and T20s on July 13 in Sri Lanka. Laxman praised Shah during the debate on Star Sports. Shah said he had no doubts about the young batsman’s strength and wanted to see Shah open in all Sri Lanka’s matches. There are many young batsmen in the squad for the tour of Sri Lanka and senior batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been made captain.

Despite the request of the team’s management, why would selectors not want to send Prithvi Shah and Devadut Padikkal to England?

Laxman said, ‘I want Prithvi Shah to play not only ODIs but also T20s. No one doubts his ability. This is certainly a good opportunity for them to make a comeback in all forms, not just in white ball cricket but also in Test matches. More than the IPL, I was very impressed with his performance as captain in the Vijay Hazare tournament because he was dropped by the Indian team and there was a lot of buzz about his strategy.

Shah had scored 308 in the first leg of the IPL 2021 and was fourth on the top scorer list. The IPL was postponed due to the coronary epidemic and now its second phase will be played in the UAE from September 19.

India can play a warm-up game before the Test series against England

The former batsman said, “We have seen him starve for runs in the Vijay Hazare tournament. Secondly, we have seen a change in their tactics in the IPL as well. You want to see that in a young batsman.
