Who can handle Team India’s command in the future? Yuvraj Singh suggested Rishabh Pant’s name

There has been a lot of debate about the captaincy of the Indian cricket team after losing the World Test Championship title. Captain Virat Kohli faced severe criticism for his defeat in the WTC final and the demand to remove him from the captaincy. Under Virat’s leadership, Team India has never been able to win a single ICC title. However, the team has recorded many memorable victories under Kohli’s leadership. The big question is who will be given the command of the India team when Virat’s international career takes a break as Dhoni. Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has named Rishabh Pant as the future captain.

Speaking to Times of India, Yuvraj Singh said, “I see the potential of a future leader in Rishabh Pant. Because he is bouncy, impersonal and talkative everywhere. However, I think he has a smart mind since I saw him as the captain of the Delhi Capitals in the IPL. He did a wonderful job. So people are looking at him as the future captain of the Indian cricket team in the coming years.

Following the injury of Shreyas Iyer, Pant swept the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021 and under his captaincy the team was on top until the tournament was postponed. The Delhi Capitals have won 6 of the 8 matches. Notably, Pant’s batting leadership was not visible and he scored 213 runs including two fifties. The BCCI decided to postpone the IPL 2021 on May 4 after several players became known as corona positive.
