The central government has made the Delhi government responsible for a growing number of cases of corruption in the national capital, Delhi. “The corruption cases in Delhi have increased due to the loosening of the Delhi government,” the central government said in an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court.
In an affidavit filed before Justice Ashok Bhushan on Friday, the Delhi government said that despite all the warnings, the Delhi government did not take effective measures to control the epidemic. The state government issued all ads, including dengue prevention, but there was not a single ad about Kovid.
In eight Union Territories and States, including Delhi, 62 per cent of infections have been reported and deaths have reached 61 per cent, the Center said. The Delhi government’s shortcomings were revealed at its meeting held on 11.11.20 am, the Center said.
No effective measures have been taken to prevent infection
The Delhi government knew that winter, feasting and the onset of pollution could increase the number of cases. Despite this information, no preventive measures were taken. The central government has said that the Delhi government has been regularly advertising to prevent dengue but has not made any publicity about Kovid. People are not told to take safety measures.
The High Power Committee has warned the Delhi government. The NITI Aayog-led panel has told the Delhi government that 15,000 cases should be ready every day and 6500 ICU beds should be ready. However, the Delhi government has not taken any action on this recommendation and has kept the number of beds at just 3500. This suddenly increased the pressure on Delhi’s health and medical infrastructure.
Despite all the calls from the Center, the Delhi government has not increased its test capability, especially RT PCR, and it has been running 20,000 tests for a long time. Central health measures, such as home-to-home surveys, contact tracing, cervantine and clinical management, have not been properly implemented which can accelerate infection. Patients who were home isolated did not detect them properly or track their contacts.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs had held an early meeting on November 15 and gave instructions to see the situation worsening. Now the test will be doubled to 60000 by November 30 and the Rapid Antigen will be reduced to 60000.
