Wrestler Seema Bisla qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, reaching the final of the World Olympic Qualifier

Seema Bisla, the fourth female wrestler from India to qualify for the TOA Olympics, entered the 50kg final of the World Olympic qualifier, but Sumit Malik survived the final and was satisfied with the silver medal due to a knee injury. Seema defeated Anna Lukasiak of Poland 2–1, the bronze medalist of the European Championships, to advance to the final. He will now play Ecuador’s Lucia Yamilet Yepage Guzman.

India’s Vinesh Phogat (53kg), Anshu Malik (57kg) and Sonam Malik (62kg) have qualified for the Olympics. After losing, India’s Nisha is 68kg and Pooja is 76kg. In the men’s category, Malik did not enter the final of the 125kg category. His coach Jagmandar Singh said he suffered a right knee injury while practicing at the national camp a few weeks ago but he is playing to achieve the Olympic quota.

Seema won the bronze medal at the recently concluded Asian Championships in Almaty and defeated Anastasia Yanotova of Belarus 8. Beat 0. He beat Emma Joanna Denise of Sweden with 43 seconds left. Bulgaria’s Mimi Ristova defeated Nisha (68kg) in the quarterfinals on technical grounds. Nisha defeated Natalia Ivona of Poland in the first round. At the same time, Puja in the 76kg division lost 3–4 to Kamilejia of Lithuania.
