It is believed that Ishant Sharma, Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammad Shami will enter the final. However, it is now rumored that the team’s management is contemplating to replace Australian tour hero Mohammed Siraj in the now playing XI.

It is believed that the governing body of the Indian team is planning to field Siraj in the final of the WTC. However, fitting Siraj to the last eleven seems a difficult task. This is the first time Ishant, Shami and Bumrah have been selected after the 2019 West Indies tour. According to Times of India, India may ask Ishant Sharma to rest and play for Siraj in the final. In a match such as the final, such fast bowlers are available, the team hopes to bowl long spells. Ishant has been battling injuries for a long time and that is why he has never been a part of the tour of Australia.

“There are many big challenges ahead of Team India in the final of the World Test Championship,” Ajit Agarkar said

Having played more than 100 Tests, Ishant’s experience definitely goes in his favor. He has played 12 Tests in England and is well aware of the conditions here. However, the team management is also worried about Ishant’s fitness and his growing age. Ishant will return for the 33rd year of the tour and will return to the squad for the home Test series against England in January after undergoing ankle surgery. The team wants such a bowler in the final, who can consistently ask questions to New Zealand batsmen by throwing bouncers over bouncers and in this case Siraj looks better than Ishant. Mohammed Shami is running for the best of his career and Bumrah’s records on foreign ground show his potential. If Virat Kohli decides to go with Siraj in the final, an experienced bowler like Ishant may have to sit on the bench.
