Badruddin Ajmal, MP for Assam and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of re-establishing the government at the center and demolishing 3500 mosques across the country. At a rally on Wednesday in Gauripur in the Dhubri district for the upcoming assembly elections, Ajmal said Muslim women would not be able to get away with wearing a burqa if they aimed to win the state’s BJP government.

Ajmal alleged that the BJP demolished the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya. AIUDF has 14 legislators in the 126-seat assembly.

On Tuesday, the opposition Congress announced its pre-election alliance with the AIUDF, the newly formed Zone Gun Morcha (AGM) and the three left parties, the CPI, CPI-M and CPI-ML. The assembly elections in the state will be held in April-May. Ajmal said the BJP was the enemy of the country, women, mosques, witchcraft and beards. Badruddin appealed to the people not to accept the money given by the saffron party before the election due to this sacrifice
And before the election, the saffron party requested that not everyone receive the money.

Asked by the crowd at the rally, Ajmal said, “What do we eat in our house? Will this BJP decide?” If you are not careful and the BJP is back in power in Assam, they will not allow women to go outside wearing burqas, beards, wearing hats and ajans in mosques. Will you be able to live like this? ”

The BJP and the coalition partners of the Congress and the AGM also expressed concern over Ajmal’s statement. A spokesperson for BJP spokesperson Rupam Goswami said, “This time, most of Assam’s Muslims know that they will vote for BJP because their statement shows anxiety.” Ajmal is trying to polarize votes with such communal statements. But the voters of Assam are sensitive and know the truth of such statements. ”

Congress state president Ripun Bora said Thursday that “Congress will never say such a thing.” I heard him say that at a rally on Wednesday. Since they are part of our alliance, we ask Ajmal about this and look forward to not making such statements from any of our partners in the future. “AGM chief and Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan also spoke about Ajmal, condemning the statement and describing it as communal and harmful to society
