Delhi has announced its 22-member squad for the Vijay Hazare tournament starting February 20. Fast bowler Pradeep Sangwan has been selected as the captain of Delhi while Shikhar Dhawan has also been named in the squad. However, Dhawan is not expected to play in the final round of the tournament. Dhawan is expected to be included in the India squad for the limited-overs series, starting March 12 between India and England.

The Delhi Cricket Selection Committee and the Ashu Dani-led District Cricket Association (DDCA) have appointed Himmat Singh as the vice-captain of the team. The team includes regular players Manjot Kalra, Dhruv Shourie, Nitin Rana, Unmukt Chand and Jhanti Sidhu. The Vijay Hazare Tournament will start on February 20 and the final will be held on March 14. All players of the tournament will be required to come to the Bio Bubble on February 13, after which they will have to undergo the Kovid-19 investigation three times.

The Vijay Hazare tournament will be held in five cities, including Surat, Indore, Bangalore, Kolkata and Jaipur, while eight teams of the Plate Group will play their matches on different grounds in Tamil Nadu. According to the BCCI protocol, players must undergo three RT-PCR tests before joining their bio-bubble. They will need to do so before the knockout stage (quarter-finals pre-season) begins on March 7. The Delhi team has been placed in the D group this time along with Mumbai, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Puducherry.
