Today is the 2022 semifinal
According to the State Election Commission, there are about 2.42 lakh voters in the two wards under North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) and three wards in the East Delhi Municipal Corporation. By-elections are being held in Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh (North), Rohini-C, Trilokpuri, Kalyanpuri and Chauhan Bangar wards. The Election Commission points out that Shalimar Bagh (Uttar Pradesh) is reserved for women, while Trilokpuri and Kalyanpuri are reserved for SC category. These by-elections are being seen as a semifinal ahead of elections in all 272 MCD wards by early 2022.
Where are the votes
According to government figures, Kalyanpuri polled 59.19 per cent votes, Trilokpuri 55.95 per cent, Chauhan Bangar 55.60 per cent, Rohini-C 44.58 per cent and Shalimar Bagh (Uttar Pradesh) ward 43.23 per cent. Of these five wards, 50.86 percent voted. After the vote, the main rivals AAP, BJP and Congress won.
