India’s Rohan Bopanna and Pakistan’s Aizam-ul-Haq Qureshi lost in the ATP 500 tennis event after reuniting on Wednesday. The undefeated Indian and Pakistani pair lost 7-6 2-6 1-10 to second seed Bruno Soares and Jamie Murray in the first round of the 12,04,960 prize hard court competition.
Bopanna and Qureshi lost the second set after winning the first set. The pair closed all the withdrawal doors after being 0-7 in the tiebreaker. Bopanna and Qureshi last played in the 2014 ATP competition in Shenzhen. However, both players have made it clear that they have only played together in the tournament since the lower joint rank of the two does not allow them a place in the big tournaments.
