Altaf, who was shot and killed by a gunman
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Mohammad Altaf Hussain is a martyr, defending BJP leader Ghulam Qadir from militant attacks.
Altaf Hussain was working on a police team that provided protection for local BJP leader Ghulam Qadir. The militants attacked Ghulam Qadir on Tuesday evening while he was on his way to Kangan City with his security guards Altaf.

The alarmed Altaf Hussain opened fire on the militants. Altaf, who was not disturbed by the gunfire, shot down a furious fighter. The wounded Altaf was immediately taken to a hospital in Srinagar. Altr Hussain is a martyr with no treatment. The deceased was identified as Shabbir of Pulwama.
Martha Altaf Hussain is a resident of Srinagar and joined the police department in 2011. BJP leader Ghulam Qadir has been serving as a security guard for the past three months. Altaf has a one-year-old son, wife and father-in-law.
