Ambassadors from Europe and Africa to visit Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow

Ambassadors from Europe and Africa will visit the central region on Wednesday to assess the development activities and security conditions of Jammu and Kashmir, especially after the election of the District Development Council. Authorities provided the information Tuesday.

He said that after the abolition of the special status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, ambassadors from various countries will get direct information on the development work being done by the central province administration. According to officials, apart from meeting some well-known citizens and administration secretaries with these foreign ambassadors, the newly elected representatives of the DDC will also meet them and demonstrate the Center’s efforts to ensure democracy at ground level.

The talks to strengthen democratic organizations at the grassroots level will be highlighted and the presentation of how panchayats are empowered by giving them economic power, officials said. On the second day, the foreign delegation left for Jammu and said they would meet Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. He will also meet with some DDC members and representatives of some social organizations.

This is the second diplomatic effort by the Government of India to deal with Pakistan’s misbehavior, officials said. Pakistan has been campaigning on Kashmir on international fora. Senior law and order officials in the Kashmir Valley will inform the foreign delegation about the security situation, particularly in the wake of Pakistan’s efforts to infiltrate terrorists through the Line of Control and violate the ceasefire agreement. On August 5 last year, the central government withdrew the state status of Jammu and Kashmir and announced it would be divided into two union territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
