Joe Biden, who was elected US president last week over the attack on the Capitol building, said we have seen an unprecedented attack on our democracy. This was unlike anything seen in the 244-year history of our nation. He said this criminal attack was planned and coordinated. This has been done by political extremists and domestic terrorists who have incited President Trump to violence. This is an armed rebellion against the US and those responsible should be held accountable.

“This nation is in the grip of a deadly virus and a dwindling economy,” Biden said. I hope the Senate leadership will find a way to deal with its constitutional responsibilities on impeachment, but also work on other essential affairs of this nation.

What is special is that US President Donald Trump has not acknowledged his defeat in the election and is making uncontrollable claims of fraud in the November 3 election. Amid their claims, Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol Building (US Parliament House), killing one Capitol police officer and four others.
