Craig Braithwaite replaces Jason Holder as West Indies’ new Test captain

West Indies Cricket Team’s new Test captain, Craig Braithwaite. Jason Holder has been appointed as the Test captain. In this way, Braithwaite will become the 37th Test captain of the West Indies. In the absence of Holder, Braithwaite has led the West Indies in seven Tests. Recently, under his captaincy, the West Indies defeated Bangladesh 2-0 in a Test series on their ground. Braithwaite will be in charge of the upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka. Braithwaite said it was a proud moment to get Test leadership.

He said, ‘It is a very proud thing to be captain of the West Indies Test team. I am very proud that the Selectmen and the Board have given me this opportunity and responsibility. Winning a Test series in Bangladesh recently is a huge achievement. I am very excited about the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka. Cricket West Indies (CWI) major selection Roger Harper said the recent progress in Bangladesh is a testament to Braithwaite’s role.

In addition, CWI Director of Cricket Jimmy Adams thanked Jason Holder. I would like to thank Holder on behalf of the CWI who gave everything to the team as a Test leader. Moreover, he clearly stated that the holders will continue to be an important part of the Test team.
