Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting tops the list with 8,497 runs in 234 ODIs. After Ponting, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is second on the list of captains with 6,641 runs in 200 ODIs.

However, Virat Kohli has both average and strikeouts better than the rest of the captains. Virat is just 79 runs away from completing 5000 runs on domestic ground. Virat scored 79 while Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Jack Kallis would become the fourth batsmen in the world. The Indian skipper has scored 231 runs in five matches, batting superbly in the T20 series against England. Since November 2019, however, Virat Kohli has not batted a century.
