The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sighed Wednesday when UAE officials issued a visa to players and broadcasters for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Abu Dhabi. The PCB has confirmed that 25 Indian nationals who are part of the broadcaster’s team have been granted visas by UAE officials to travel from India to Abu Dhabi.

26 people from South Africa, including players and technical staff, have been granted visas. The South African squad includes players such as Faf Duplessis, David Miller, Riley Rousseau, Cameron Delport, Michael Smith and Herschelle Gibbs. “All players, officers and employees who arrive at their hotel within 2pm on May 27 are deemed to have completed the quarantine,” the PCB said in a statement. About 233 players from all six PCB’s franchises and their staff are brought on chartered flights to host the remaining 20 games of the PSL. These matches are likely to take place between June 6th and 20th.

Notably, the league was postponed on March 4 of this year after players in the PSL received a case of coronavirus infection. 14 games of the tournament were played before the postponement. Subsequently, the remaining 20 matches of the PSL were postponed to March and the PCB has decided to hold it in Karachi from June 1 to 20. But it was decided to have it in the UAE on the advice of the ‘National Command and Operations Authority’, which oversees the country’s Kovid-19.
