Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, UP … Congress rebels now do ‘G-23’ and rallies may increase tensions

Congress ‘rebel leaders’ group ‘G23’ recently met in Jammu. The rally was attended by senior Congress leaders like Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma and Kapil Sibal. By this he tried to convey the message that he was not anti-Hindu. On the one hand, the saffron saffron party and the rally on the one hand, the Congress, on the other hand, made it clear that a new faction would be formed in the 135 year old party. But, Congress is not over. This congressional ‘G-23’ faction can do a few more rallies now. These rallies can be held in other states outside Jammu and Kashmir. These rallies can be held from Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi to UP. If this happens, it will definitely be a concern for Congress.

Congress sources say such a meeting can now be held in Himachal Pradesh. Anand Sharma, a veteran of the G23, comes from this state. These rallies can take place in Himachal Pradesh, the home state of Anand Sharma, which was once very close to the Gandhi family. Anand Sharma’s close sources say he was one of the close family leaders of the Congress at one point, but the distance has increased over the past few years. Mallikarjun Kharge has been appointed as a leader in the Rajya Sabha and is serving as a deputy leader in the House. In such a situation they need to report to Mallikarjun Khar. According to party sources, Mallikarjun Khadke is close to Rahul Gandhi and is closer to Sonia than Anand Sharma.

This conflict between Sonia and Rahul Gandhi’s cronies has come to the fore in the form of ‘G23’. After Himachal Pradesh, similar meetings can be held in Haryana, Punjab, UP and Delhi. However, this series does not stop here. These congressional leaders are also considering setting up their candidates for the party’s presidential election in June. If Rahul Gandhi goes to the polls, his victory is certain, but the ‘G23’ will stand as a candidate against him.

Anand Sharma was close to Gandhi family, why was he part of G23?

These Congress leaders are constantly questioning the weakness of the party. Recently, Anand Sharma and Kapil Sibal, in a program called ‘Peace Meeting’ in Jammu, claimed that a weak Congress is the truth today. 23 senior leaders, including Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Nabi Azad, wrote to Sonia Gandhi last year demanding regular presidents. However, there was controversy over the letter, which many leaders had suggested raising questions within the party forum.
